We currently live in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, which is about 90 minutes by train from Tokyo.  While we are close to the city, our town is surrounded by mountains, and the views are beautiful.  For most of the year we have views of snow capped mountains to both the north and the south.  On a nice clear day, we can even see Mt. Fuji from our front yard!
